Cellular concretes

Foam concrete, non-autoclave-cured gas concrete, cement wood, fibrolite, etc.

Application of VSM in cellular concretes allows compensating a number of disadvantages caused by their relatively low strength, bringing the number of faulty products close to zero.

VSM has the following positive impact on foam concrete:

  • shrinkage cracking is eliminated;
  • impact strength increases – corners and edges do not chip off during manufacture and transportation;
  • increased geometric accuracy and surface quality of products is achieved;
  • higher efficiency due to reduced initial hardening time.

Economic efficiency:

  • reduced number of defects and losses during demolding, transportation and masonwork;
  • increased turn round of molds and higher labour efficiency;
  • possible concrete mix saving.

Recommendations for application of VSM:

Recommended fiber length: 12 and 18 mm.

Fiber length depends on the thickness of concrete lining and fractional content.

  • Content of VSM in the mixture depends on the type of cell concrete, its density and production process. Approximate recommended content is as follows;
  • 0.6 kg of VSM per 1 m3 of concrete mixture is to be added to prevent shrinkage cracking;
  • 0.9 kg of VSM per 1 m3 of concrete mixture is to be added to make floors more durable and eliminate cracking.
